Research Stays

01.04.2009 - Besuch am INP Greifswald

Dr. Volker Schulz-von der Gathen and one of our students, Hendrik Bahre, visited with the INP in Greifswald in March 2009 for a one week research activity. In cooperation with Dr. R. Foest and Dr. H. Lange, they investigated the VUV emission of the RUB micro plasma jet.
Results of this cooperation will be presented at the ISPC 19 conference in Bochum.

23.02.2009 - Visit of the Queen's University in Belfast

Dr. Volker Schulz-von der Gathen and research student Arthur Greb visited the partner group of Timo Gans at Queen's University in Belfast, Northern Ireland, from February 19th to 21st, 2009. Common comparative measurements on oxygen detection in the micro plasma jet were discussed. A reserach visit of a Belfast student has been agreed upon. Arthur Greb presented a setup for ozone concentration measurements by UV absorption spectroscopy. A second topic of discussions were micro plasma arrays. Here, D. O'Connell is the main partner at QUB.

16.12.2010-Visit of Dr. Schulz-von der Gathen at The Queen's University of Belfast

From Sunday, December 12th, 2010 till Wednesday, December 15th, 2010, Dr. Volker Schulz-von der Gathen visited Dr. Timo Gans at The Queen's University of Belfast (QUB) to discuss future common projects. During this stay. he also prepared a publication with the former RUB student Arthur Greb who is now working as a phd in Belfast.

From 27th November to 29th November 2011 Dr. Ilija Stefanović, PI of Research Dept. «Plasmas with Complex Interactions», was guest of Department of Macromolecular Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic. During his stay he visited the laboratories and dicussed with Prof. H. Biderman, Dozent A. Shukurov and others about new developments in the field of plasma polymers. On 29th of November, he gave the lecture for the Faculty members with the title «CONTROLLED HYDROCARBON NANOPARTICLE FORMATION IN LOW PRESSURE, LOW TEMPERATURE RF PLASMA».
