29.07.2013 - EXCHANGE UNIVERSITY OF ULSTER – RUHR-UNIVERSITÄT BOCHUM

Jun.-Prof. Jan Benedikt and PhD student Barbara Barwe, both belonging to the Ruhr-University group of “Coupled Plasma-Solid States Systems”, visited the group “Plasma Science and Nanoscale Engineering” led by Dr. Davide Mariotti at the University of Ulster (UK) from July 22nd till 26th. Both groups are working on the production and characterization of Silicon Nanocrystals by RF-microplasma. During this one-week, ideas were discussed upon reactor set-up, synthesis practices as well as characterization and diagnostic methods. Silicon Nanocrystals have been produced in Bochum and were and still will be optically characterized at the University of Ulster.
This visit and collaboration is supported by Leverhulme Trust International Network (LINet) funding scheme, which was granted to Dr. Mariotti in Dezember 2012.
